A Chemical peel is a technique used to improve the appearance and smooth the texture of the skin. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which causes the top surface of the skin to eventually peel off. The new regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, hands, chest, or back. They can be used to reduce fine lines, treat wrinkles, treat acne, reduce age spots, reduce freckles, reduce dark patches, reduce the appearance of mild scars, and overall improve the look and feel of your skin.
We do all of our treatments with Rondha Allison products. All Rhonda Allison treatment procedures are considered superficial; they do not penetrate beyond the epidermis or papillary dermis. They are not to be confused with medical or physician-strength peels that affect the reticular dermis.
Before You Get a Chemical Peel
Tell your doctor if you have any history of scarring, cold sores that keep coming back, or facial X-rays. Before you get a chemical peel, your doctor may ask you to stop taking certain drugs and prepare your skin by using other medications, such as Retin-A, Renova, or glycolic acid. The doctor may also prescribe antibiotics or antiviral drugs. Work with your aesthetician to determine the depth of your peel. This decision depends upon the condition of your skin and your goals for treatment. Ask your aesthetician in advance whether you will need to have someone drive you home after your peel.

ADVANCED SKIN TREATMENTS
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a quick and effective anti-aging treatment. It helps softens fine lines and wrinkles, smooth coarsely textured skin, decreases the appearance of scarring, decreases pore size, and reduces superficial hyper-pigmentation, also known as age spots. Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation machine. It typically consists of a wand with a diamond or crystal tip and a vacuum suction device. As our esthetician maneuvers the wand across your skin, the diamond/crystal tip exfoliates your skin by removing the uppermost layer of dead skin. The vacuum suction device simultaneously removes the dead skin, leaving a smooth new layer of skin. Microdermabrasion can be applied to the face, chest, back, and hands.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair. Because dermaplaning is a quick procedure with few to no adverse effects, it has quickly gained popularity among cosmetic medical providers across the country. Using a scalpel and a delicate touch, the provider simply abrades the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes. This is a great treatment to offer to patients who are pregnant or nursing who want a deep exfoliation, but are not allowed to use peeling agents on their skin because of the risk that the chemicals will be absorbed into the blood stream, and may be transferred to the fetus or the child. It is also a first choice for patients who have excess vellus hair on the skin. This hair often causes a buildup of dirt and oils in the follicles, so removing the hair gives the patient healthier looking skin.
Dermaplaning is most often used on patients with rough, dry skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance.
